ABOUT

From a centuries-old tribe in Ireland to 1613 Jamestown, Virginia, to discovering an ancestor who served in the Continental Army, our genealogical journeys can lead us to unknown and exciting paths.

Keith Berry is a Certified Genealogist® based in Roanoke, Virginia, specializing in research within the Southeastern and Upper Southern United States. He is the owner of Your Lineage, a genealogy service that offers a range of services, including family history research, document retrieval, military research, and lineage society applications.

Keith’s genealogical expertise is particularly focused on Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama, Kentucky, and West Virginia. He holds a certificate in American Genealogical Studies from the National Genealogical Society. He has completed advanced courses at the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, including studies on federal records and Virginia history.

Keith’s personal genealogical research has led to significant discoveries, such as tracing his ancestry back to 1613 Jamestown, Virginia, discovering he shares a great-grandmother with Thomas Jefferson, and documenting twelve ancestors who contributed to the American Revolution. These findings have earned him memberships in the Jamestowne Society, The Hereditary Order of the Families of the Presidents and First Ladies of America, and the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Keith currently serves as the Lieutenant Governor of the Jamestowne Society’s Roanoke-New River Valley Company.

Keith has not only helped numerous clients discover their unknown ancestors, but his research has also been instrumental in enabling clients to obtain membership in various lineage societies.
